MOD teaches education the importance of ICT

Interesting to see that the brand new Type 45 destroyer launched yesterday from the Scotstoun Yard on the Clyde will provide every member of the crew with an internet link above their bunks (see the BBC website). The benefits of immediate and on-going access to their loved ones back home for the crew are self-evident, and the ability to see the world beyond the hull of their ship will be a boon for the far-travelled sailor.

I just wonder when every teacher and every student in every school and college in the country will have the same facility on their desk or, even better, in their bag or in their pocket? But then, as the saying goes, the army never has to hold a jumble sale to buy a tank, does it?
