The world is bumpy.....
| Nice line from a Cisco VP recently, to the effect that the world is not flat, as Thomas Friedman would have it. Rather, it is 'bumpy', because there are still many countries and regions in the world that would love to be able to join and exploit the 'flat' world but are unable to do so as yet because of historical disparities in prosperity, infrastructure, regulatory simplicity, and so on. |

post a commentJohn, as a geography teacher who spends a lot of time teaching about the Less Economically Developed World I really like this quote. See you soon, Ollie.
The Friedman book is a little bit glib (as all these 'guru' type books tend to be, I guess) so it's good to see some measure of reality in that particular discussion. Hope you're heading somewhere nice for the holidays, Ollie!
