John Connell: The Blog

The point is not to interpret the world but to change it.

Change has come to America

He said, “Yes, we can!”

And the American people heard him, and agreed with him.

Change indeed.

Time perhaps for a brief collective sigh of relief around the world…..

As Wordsworth said of the start of the French Revolution: ‘Bliss was it in that dawn to be alive’.
A little extravagent perhaps but reflecting the general mood.
    Let’s hope Obama stays alive!

I wonder if he realises the significance of having adopted ‘Bob the Builder’s’ slogan though…

I hope he stays alive as well, and that the FBI ‘fixes it’ for him. I fear though that as a result he will be the most inaccessible president in USA history.
If I was Mrs C, I’d be getting ready for a comeback on the Lazarus scale !

Can’t understand though why everyone keeps calling him the first black president. Morgan Freeman has done the job several times!

And James Earl Jones, I’m sure, played a US president in the movies before ‘Johnny-come-lately’ Freeman came along…..

It was far more than once today that I heard comments on the radio about how this would not have possible without having had a black president in the t.v show 24! Much as I love that programme, and am rewatching them all just now, I think that may be pushing it!
