$37 trillion ’stimulus’ – fact or fantasy?

A loud Irish voice speaking on his phone on the Heathrow Express this morning: an unnamed US bank has set up “dozens of accounts” in banks around the world in preparation for a $37 trillion equity release in the coming days or weeks.
It’s an unfathomable amount of money. So, is it true? Is this Obama’s stimulus package on its way – surely not even the US can afford this?
Or, most likely, was I listening to (actually, unable not to hear) a loudmouth fantasist playing to a captive gallery?
Who knows? We’ll see.
