When Will the Telcos get Real about Broadband?

October 2nd, 2009 § 2 comments

The UK is “.…25th out of 66 countries in terms of the quality and reach of its networks.” So says a report (sponsored by Cisco) from the Said Business School.

Currently, our ‘broadband’ network is ‘not fit for the future’, to quote the BBC.

We will only start to get it right in Britain when the Telcos come clean and admit that the product they are currently selling is not real broadband! When they start to roll out affordable high-bandwidth symmetrical connections to households across the country, built on fibre to the home, then, and only then, will we be able to talk about Broadband Britain.

The full report can be downloaded here.
